There are people who have trouble adjusting, sure, but my experience has been that most leftists at least try to get it right. I try to have some space for people who are just learning about NB folks or people whose presentation doesn't seem to match their pronouns but if, after gentle and firm corrections, they are still not making it work, I get "Hey you realize you're being part of the problem here?" curt about it.
