I refer the honourable gentleman not to the reply in Arkell v. Pressdram, but to David Davis in 2008. Davis resigned as an MP to stand in a single-issue by-election in 2008 to make a point and the major parties refused to field candidates.
Ideally, nobody stands against Farage, he walks straight back into Parliament without the need for a by-election. Where he then immediately faces the exact same inquiry into abuse of parliamentary rules.
