In the bottom of the 5th, in a scoreless game, Jung Hoo Lee singled, and was bunted to 2nd by Daniel Susac. Drew Gilbert, alerted that this "getting a hit" sort of thing was actually possible, hit a popup to LF. Jung Hoo Lee, not waiting to see if the popup would land or not, took off, mostly because nobody was covering 2nd base anyway. It fell in. He scored. Gilbert had a double. It was 1-0 Giants over the Cubs.

Up swaggered Matt Chapman. "What's this doubles business? I think I'll try." Try, he did. He hammered a 107 MPH line drive over the fence in CF, scoring himself and Gilbert, making it 3-0 Giants.

Luis Arraez grounded out.

Bryce Eldridge drew a walk. He has a very good eye.

Rafael Devers liked what he saw, so he also drew a walk.

With 2 outs, and runners on 1st and 2nd, Casey Schmitt was hit by a pitch, loading the bases for Willy Adames.

Willy grounded into a force out, SS-2B. Ouch. That will mess with your LOB numbers.

3-0 Giants, heading to the 6th inning.
