Yeah. It's never been my area but I believe the chrome is electroplating and the nickel involves electric in the preparation of the sheet but I think the nickel is just a bath.
I started as a machinist and moved to programming. Most of the chemicals here are better avoid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, ferric chloride and the chrome are all pretty nasty IMO.
