What’s that?! A new book about the Linotype and mass media?!
Jeff and I have been in contact for the past few years, first meeting at a panel talk in 2023, sharing research findings, commenting on each other’s writing, and generally supporting *any* book project that tells the praises of this revolutionary machine (the Linotype).
His book gets into some of the details that I won’t in my book and I’m especially thrilled (as a child of Missouri myself) that he goes deep into the fascinating history of author Mark Twain’s failed attempt to create a competing machine with the Linotype and nearly going bankrupt in the process.
I was lucky enough to read the manuscript before going to print and I highly recommend you pick up a copy.
