For good measure, I also submitted a Pull Request to update MacPorts' libressl-devel to 4.4.0 (was previously 4.4.0rc1) here:

It's up to someone else with commit access to merge it.
I also submitted a story to undeadly.org; though I will leave it up to one of the other editors to double check it for any errors I may have inadvertently introduced and publish it.
