I'm not sure anyone thought that an aerial war alone would force regime change, but it's notable that while the US is sending ground troops to the Middle East, Israel is reporting that the IDF is stretched beyond capacity.
If the US commits to an long and ugly ground war in Iran while Israel concentrates on using its army to grow its own borders in Lebanon then people in the USA are going to get very vocal very quickly.
