My workflow is centered around VS Code and the CLI - I don't like to switch between lots of windows when working. I like to have VS Code on one half of the screen, then the browser on the other, running a local PHP server so I can see what's changed live. I then have a popup terminal using Guake.
Even with a Git GUI (I do have Gitte installed) I'd have to check which branch I'm on, and I'd forget.
