Chasing Waterfalls on Nostr: She says the doctor has overstepped but doesn’t say the exact symptoms her child ...

She says the doctor has overstepped but doesn’t say the exact symptoms her child experiences. I find that people who push the notion that they are skeptics aren’t actually thinking critically in a constructive manner, they are people proud of their skepticism as a personality trait. People who truly think critically just DO. It’s the same with people who are funny. They just ARE and don’t tell everyone they are funny. Maybe the doctor has overstepped his bounds but that’s not what this fluff piece is actually telling us. As someone with sensory issues, I find this to be a concerning response. Oh. And SPD isn’t an official diagnosis, at least not in the USA, so it doesn’t get you shit in terms of accommodations in schools, and it DEFINITELY doesn’t get you accommodations anywhere else in life. It doesn’t get you a mark on your files.

Edit. And I want to smack this twat. She comments on SPD and drugs. DRUGS?!?!? This is a disorder that is largely NOT drugged and I’m one of the lucky ones who stumbled upon a drug initially taken for another reason that helps my system calm down. NOBODY I’ve ever interacted with online who has sensory issues has indicated that a doctor has even suggested meds for sensory issues. It’s coping methods and PT all the way. This is a big part of why I know this woman is full of shit, not actually educated, and wears the “skeptic” label as an identity without actually practicing what she preaches.
