You know, my casual usage of this might be a language thing... It has a different history and context in Dutch, and coming out of/for something is perhaps a little more common. Sorry that it made you twitchy.
Though I agree, the dangers and significance of that step can be very real and daunting. It's not the same problem, obviously, but it is an issue I like to acknowledge. Perhaps I simply lack a better term or expression for it...
