On those sites, I don’t just see photographs. I begin to understand what the person is interested in, what they pay attention to, and how they see the world.

And once I know that context, the photographs themselves start to look different.

These days, when I visit a photographer’s website, I sometimes feel that I can see the person behind the work even more clearly than the photographs themselves.
