Translation… a vital role, grossly underpaid and undervalued. It is only recently that publishers are beginning to add the translator(s) name(s) to the front cover of their publications. It’s been a long time coming.
How could an author widen his readership without them? How much revenue would publishers forego without them. More to the point how would readers discover works from other culture and be transported by stories that are no found anywhere else?
Translators… are **authors** in their own right when they turn a foreign language work into unforgetable prose and take us all to way back to the original author. Each and every translated work is essentially *new* work. What splendid boons are given us by **translators**. They deserve our admiration for the bridging they enable and better remuneration commensurate with the new creative work they put into each translation.
