These are my personal rules about gas, particularly when traveling:
Stick to Tier 1/Top Tier stations and never use Shell gas (they have repeatedly fucked people over with bad gas).
If it seems like the gas has something wrong with it, mix it with Chevron/Texaco. They seem to have the best additive package. I also will dump in a can of seafoam.
Don't buy gas while the tanker is filling the tanks or immediately after because it will kick up sediment.
Watch for niggers.
