2/2. Down in the valley at 11,000 feet (3,400m), we thought we were safe since lightning tends to strike near the high points. WRONG! A bolt of lightning struck approximately 100m from us. A very loud sound! We then headed quickly out of the valley to even lower ground with lightning striking around us. A terrifying experience overall.
