It needs 3rd party software in order to not turn on its fan, which would kill quiet recordings. It does not work in summer open airs for recording, because it overheats. It ruined entire livestreams in summer, even when it was young, because it got too hot and then lost performance. It slows down the entire machine's performance for the sake of a fluid GUI experience of some applications. It does not have proper connectors. (After all, I got myself this M2 over an M1 only for the reason of having a separate power connector.)
The MacBook Pro 2017 is the worst computer I ever owned.
I use a Thinkpad t470 from the same time on a daily basis, albeit slow now for some purposes, it is a beast. I could upgrade it to 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD myself without selling my wife to the devil or something.
