Apparently in the aftermath of this, they were unhappy with them and placed more restrictions. So maybe Nintendo itself wouldn't have really gone after Palworld, but their legal department thought they should, or maybe just saw it as a good opportunity.
I don't HATE Nintendo, I'm just generally not a fan of... companies anymore. I will still get their stuff if it interests me though.
