It's pretty difficult to change the mindset of the people who want to behave like vassals and slaves. My suggested countermeasure to deal with these potentially antisocial behaviors is potent: Treating them with absolutely cold and crushing indifference, not giving a damn about their successes and failures, joys and suffering. Also, getting away from their radius of influence while still being (in a sane proportion) inside society and the market.
