I've heard an HR professional openly say that they no longer read cover letters. AI has become so pervasive that they are basically neatly written garbage, and all look the same.
So we arrived at the point where we spend time, money and energy to produce something that nobody will ever read. This is a pattern that will spread beyond cover letters, I reckon. Interesting times ahead.
