My argument was that 2-of-2 with one software seed (the coordinator) and one hardware was better than just single-sig on hardware.
I agree with you that 2-of-3, 3-of-5 etc. are better than either 2-of-2 or single-sig.
The benefit of 2-of-2 software+hardware (compared to single-sig) is that it protects against the ColdCard class of vulnerability without requiring any new equipment.
