Just found an example of a custom algorithm on BlueSky that illustrates the point I was making.
I can sign up to a feed that will give me only the most recent post of anyone I follow.
I'm always wondering if there I people that I follow, who only post at times of the day when I'm not active.
With this feed, I can quickly see something from everyone I follow who has been active in the last few days - and the really active people in my feed, won't drown them out.
