That is exactly what happened. MIL and stepfather. MIL actually got the house in the divorce, but then had to sign it over to FIL as the bank had started the foreclosure process just a couple of years later. This occurred nearly 30 years ago. Long before I met my husband.
And thank you for the kind thoughts. Losing my FIL has been horrible. I never realized how much I would miss him, and my husband and oldest son are really heartbroken.
