Is this anything special about the number 15? I notice that 15 is the largest 4-bit integer and so might in some way have the strongest signal, and yet if subtracting 15 is something that happens in the program then you can't possibly be working with only 4-bit integers even at that level of instructions, so maybe it's just a coincidence.
