About the LLM/AI and open source.
And choices in life.
I tested a Gentoo Linux installation and got stuck at the Grub part and I bailed out for now. DId an OpenBSD installation which went fine. Getting disk encryption to work was easy during installation, unlike a few years ago. Did a NetBSD installation and that didn't go too well but later I found out I missed a step in the installation. A new installation went fine. Then there's ChimeraLinux which I liked when I tried it a long time ago. And I like Haiku though as long as it is a single user (root) OS it is not ready for everything.
https://codeberg.org/ethical-foss/open-slopware#other-operating-systemsI do like the idea of what someone wrote on Mastodon last week : Run a minimal NetBSD installation on the desktop and then keep an off-line version of an old stable Debian handy on another computer.
Now that the USA has destroyed my blog (formely at A/I/NoBlogs) maybe I should get a new blog to write down these things. After all Mastodon is not for blogging or is it ? 😇
