The saga of the Billionaire City is really showing Gavin Newsom in a different light.
While not coming out and endorsing the Billionaire City, he kind of - sort of -did just that having his Chief of Staff call a meeting with our county Board of Supervisors, elected state representatives, and the Billionaires. He kind of - sort of - wants special legislation to kick start a portion of the project.
We've been told by the representatives that they will only put forth the legislation if Solano County electeds support it. And they do not. Tonight with a 3-2 vote, which kind of - sort of was actually 4-1, the Supervisors voted not to endorse it. There were union and tribal groups claiming they were not consulted, and language was added, but the groups hadn't reviewed it. Oh, it's a mess.
And Newsom may still be pushing to get it done.
