I can't tell you how sick I am of getting messages from Mastodon accounts claiming to be victims in Palestine looking for money. Nine times out of 10, the account is brand new on Mastodon.social. I must report one of these every single day.
Please, please! If you want to donate to a charity, donate directly to that charity. Please do NOT directly pay Mastodon accounts with a hard luck story. All you're doing is giving accounts that are most likely scammers/bots motivation to keep bothering us.
