Yep, I learned about the Y position flip during testing - I was a bit surprised that Inkscape operated in Quadrent I. :)
Do you find some people prefer older versions of Inkscape? We have users who stick with GIMP 2.10 and even 2.8 because of certain changes, so if that's the case with Inkscape, at least it'll help them.
Good luck with eSVG! I'll be interested in learning more about that and hopefully adding support in GIMP's SVG export.
