No photo, but another fine protest here in Newport, Washington. Slightly younger demographics than the last one, but a larger turnout. We had a call-response chant twice and even sang a couple of songs. Maybe 100 folks total.
Same or more thumbs up from drivers as the last one.
Many fewer thumbs down and middle fingers than the last one.
Three costumes: a frog, a space alien, and an axolotl. So so many homemade signs, including a couple about Epstein and my favorite, #EatTheRich
For a ruby red town of 2500 people, that just fills me with glee. But hell, a century ago the most popular candidate was Eugene Debs, and the Wobblies had unionized many of the surrounding logging camps. This area was radical, once.
Cops only showed up to bitch that protestors needed to move their cars from private lots. I think there was only one fed, with a brand new LGBTQ+ flag and slowly walking up and down the street keeping an eye on things. Yawn.
