The paintings and prints sold cheaply in Swedish charity shops are remarkably tasteless. This is of course the result of a sorting process, where anything that people and institutions with money place value on gets sold before the art is donated to the charity shop. What's left there conforms to the taste of poor people, which is how "poor" taste is recognised and defined.
