Getting tips should be simple, free, and more censorship-resistant.
Most creators just need a simple tipping page where viewers can easily send money as appreciation for their work with minimal friction on both ends.
Services like “Buy Me a Coffee”, Ko-Fi, or Patreon, exist to provide this functionality.
The downsides are:
❌ Pay to use them
❌ Requires signing up
❌ Linking Bank accounts
❌ Can be de-platformed
They also ask the people tipping to sign up and/or provide lengthy payment details.
That creates friction in the process and hurts content creators from receiving tips.
Tipstr works differently.
By leveraging a Nostr profile, it creates a tipping page for anyone. Append your npub to the URL to get started right away.
Tipstr:
✅ 100% Free
✅ Uses existing Nostr profile
✅ Connects your Lightning Address for payment
✅ Much more censorship-resistant
There is little to no friction for someone with a Lightning wallet that wants to tip you.
Simply select the amount you wish to send and generate an invoice to pay.
