Some just want exposure to Bitcoin price and not bother with handling and directlymanaging their wealth. That's their problem. Some never want to transact with their btc and would much rather hold it for many years. Which is fine, I cannot tell them how to spend or use their money. The average Joe probably isn't ready to self custody until they see everyone else doing it. In your scenario, that person probably just isn't ready to learn yet.
