That&#39;s a great new twist on decentralisation!&#xA;&#xA;Although — from someone who hasn&#39;t got their escape residency sorted yet and still lives in the UK — following the advice in the suggested article https://liberation.travel/live-off-crypto-loan-legally-pay-no-tax-2026/#aave-v4 it&#39;s worth noting:&#xA;&#xA;The stablecoin tax exemption doesn&#39;t kick in until April 2027 (still draft legislation, and no one&#39;s confirmed which coins qualify yet). And the wrap is the real trap: HMRC has no wrap-specific guidance, and its general rule — swapping one cryptoasset for a different type is a disposal — points to the wrap being taxable. If so, appreciated BTC crystallises its whole gain at the wrap step, before you&#39;ve even borrowed. Accountants may argue it&#39;s a mere transfer, but that&#39;s untested.&#xA;&#xA;Firefish is the only route here that avoids the wrap entirely (BTC stays native), you just pay ~10% instead of 1–4%. On-chain only makes sense if you already hold the wrapped coin or buy it fresh. And the April 2027 rules only clean up the collateral and stablecoin-spending legs — the wrap question stays open either way.&#xA;&#xA;And that&#39;s before the FX gap: your debt and spending sit in EUR/USD stablecoins while your life is in GBP — every conversion costs, and until April 2027 the GBP/USD swings are taxable disposals too.&#xA;&#xA;🤍⚡🤘😎&#xA;&#xA;https://fountain.fm/episode/ba2u4NnBTQ7yXvpghgGv&#xA;&#xA;nostr:nevent1qvzqqqpxqupzpwrxeemtukuzv62esqjgxg4cmaxrs9sgl7j6tdrufuaturv0wea9qqsgpqrnqlxlnsduht772sursacv8kv3dff5apkutncsuhn2pxkzqwcqdqng2</html></oembed>
