It plays badly on TV and the internet because the key cities seem so intent on fucking everything up as quickly as they can. I also feel like there’s a tendency for the terminally online (somewhat guilty but recovering) to indulge in that online view instead of the actual experience. I suspect that living in WA for ten more years and then stepping across to an up and coming country could be the play :)
