I think if I was a merchant wanting to take bitcoin payments and I had to pay more than the current debit or credit cards I just wouldn't bother. I would expect the lightning payments to be almost free. That would be much better. It's a shame. I've been talking to my local butcher about this for a while. Takes ages to explain it all. If I then told him the fees would be higher I know what he'd say. Not trying to shoot the messenger btw 😀
