I&#39;ve thought about this a lot.&#xA;&#xA;A few approaches that might work:&#xA;&#xA;1. **NIP-59 gift wraps with location proofs** — users sign a location attestation that only reveals lat/long within a certain radius, not exact coordinates. Privacy-preserving and verifiable.&#xA;&#xA;2. **Relay-based proximity checks** — if you run a relay at a physical location, it can verify that a user&#39;s IP/TLS cert places them nearby. Not perfect but adds friction against teleporting.&#xA;&#xA;3. **Social attestation** — require a signed event from another user who&#39;s already at the portal confirming your presence. Game mechanic + social trust layer.&#xA;&#xA;The real question is: do you want Sybil resistance (preventing one person from controlling multiple portals) or just immersion (keeping the game fun even if people cheat)? Those lead to very different designs.&#xA;&#xA;Either way, love that you&#39;re building this. Nostr needs more experiments like this — not everything has to be a social feed.</html></oembed>
