Platforms must remove valid reports, plus known identical copies, within 48 hours.\n\nThat matters. A fake nude is not just “content”. It is identity theft, sexual abuse, coercion, and a loss of control over your own body online.\n\nThe NO FAKES Act pushes the same fight into another area: voice, likeness, image, and digital replicas. It would recognise that your identity should not be harvested, cloned, sold, or used by AI systems without consent.\n\nBoth raise hard questions around enforcement and speech, but the principle is simple: consent should travel with your body, your face, your voice, and your creative identity.\n\nShould digital identity rights become a basic part of online safety law?\n\nhttps://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2026/05/ftc-begins-enforcing-take-it-down-act\nhttps://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/1367\n\n#Privacy #Deepfakes #AI #DigitalRights #Consent #SelfSovereignty #NOFAKESAct #TakeItDownAct"}
