That is the novelty, 1500 years after Christ.\n\nThe Trinity is not defined in the bible.\nThe Canon of Scripture is not defined in the bible.\n\nIf I look at the four marks of the Church in the Nicene Creed - One, Holy, Catholic (universal), Apostolic - it points me in one direction.  \n\nProtestantism has fractured constantly into more and more denominations, so no ‘one’ there.\n\nLets assume all are Holy enough to give everyone that mark.\n\nI believe the Orthodox along with Catholics have valid Apostolic succession.\n\nUniversal - this is where I see even Orthodoxy as deficient, as most are national/ethnic churches.\n\nHistory tends towards Catholicism and Orthodoxy.  \n\nLastly, the Eucharist.  Our belief in the Sacrifice of The Mass, and Christ’s Real Presence is what we define as worship.\nWe do not worship Mary, the Saints, or the Angels.  We pray for their intercession.  \nI think much of the strife between Protestants and Catholic/Orthodox stems from the word ‘worship’ having different meaning between those two groupings.  \n"}
