In theory yes, but every dipshit in this industry wants to take credit for inventing the next global whatever, so by slapping a ticker symbol like XEC or ECX on the name is an attempt to hijack it for their own benefit, and thus “ecash” will never become a neutral term like email. The incentives ruined it.
