After over 5 years studying #bitcoin and watching podcasts and documentaries on Money and Economics, I though I had a good grasp on Keynesianism and the debt-based money model.
Still, this non-bitcoin documentary, showing the Modern Monetary Theory point of view, was one of the most interesting I've ever watched. It really puts in perspective that, if we look at it from MMT'ers point of view, #bitcoin can never be money, as it is 'just an asset', digital commodity money.
Overall, it's also impressive to see how, in the highest ranks of goverment and public management, there is so much ignorance and uncertainty/debate about how things work. Accountants, Lawyers, Economists, Politicians, Citizens, ... all can perceive things in drastically different ways.
It highlights how much we need better education and educators, and how much the world needs #bitcoin in the long run as a contrast to #fiat. Thinking of that, one notion that I got from this documentary is that, even if MMT'ers get their way (as the dollar's nature won't change), I don't think infinite government money should be the long-term unit of account.
Any thoughts?
