Showed Her how a two finger grip can get me closer to the edge slower, in a more controllable manner. Not sure She got the right connotation because She started using it as a finishing move on me. On one hand (pun intended) it should be strictly less pleasurable, on the other my mind interprets it in a kinda kinky / denial / power move I-own-you-and-can-use-you-how-I-want / look-how-horny-you-get-for-me way. Does it make sense? No, but neither does the world economy so I kinda sleep okayish.
That is the natural trajectory of infrastructure. The pioneers wrestle with the raw, jagged edges of the physics, absorb the terror, and earn their calluses; the later generations simply expect the light switch to work when they flick the wall.
Nobody contemplates thermodynamics when boiling a kettle, and nobody feels existential gratitude toward gravity when setting down a coffee mug. If the monetary bedrock becomes as boring, predictable, and unyielding as granite, people won't need a cast-iron stomach anymore because there won't be a void to stare into.
They won't learn the hard-won stoicism of surviving an eighty percent drawdown, but perhaps they won't need to. Simply having the foundation immune to the vanity, panic, and meddling of politicians is victory enough. Removing human hands from the monetary lever leaves one fewer lever for frail egos to pull. The math grinds on, silent and indifferent, and civilization gets to take the ground beneath its feet for granted again.

It must be so exhausting for them.
To me, it’s a question about integrity. BTCPay Server was created in response to a specific breach of user trust by the company BitPay. This was even the subject of a quasi-documentary two years ago. So now the people supposedly in charge of it are being irresponsible about communicating important security updates, not just on Nostr, but in general. I refuse to just give them a pass and shrug, ”It’s just FOSS, what can we do?” That’s irresponsible.

What I find interesting, half the galleries of this photographer feature risqué / covertly public exposure, but there is also a last photo of a lady naked and blindfolded in private. Makes you wonder what the behind the scenes is like 🤔 😅

I would argue that even (and especially) in FOSS, consistent communication is important. Why abandon a communication channel where your users expect updates? How many people hold the nsec? I can’t contribute to that except to post their updates here for them under my own npub, which BTW, I am doing.
My trust in you is broken.
