After my talk at Nostr Valley, @npub15ym…kwwx asked if I had considered extending the Lazarus spec to allow people to find their Blossom media uploads. I had not considered this at the time, but this question inspired me to do some research.
I decided that this would actually be a better fit for Mutable, and now I introduce the newest feature for version 2.2.0:

Bloom Reaper is best effort. Any servers that refuse just show as unavailable. This feature is not intended to display public information about other users, but for anyone who wants to see what they’ve personally uploaded, where it lives, and decide what they want to save or remove.

Just uploaded a video to my Blossom server over 3G going through the countryside of Latam on a bus, with my phone VPN’d to Brazil and my laptop VPN’d to the EU. Basically a double round-the-world trip, and it’s still fast, I’m amazed
After a last minute flurry of activity, the final tally of 25 votes (all verifiable, signed events) is:
14 against and 11 for removing Nostrich, so the app stays…for now.

It is most definitely not. A lot of people are getting these. Report it as phishing to your email provider. Hopefully we’ll learn to what extent (if any) Foundation’s email domain was compromised, or how they spoofed the headers.
There is a targeted phishing campaign happening right now involving the @npub1s0v…pq6j email domain. Messages are being sent to a large number of addresses that have appeared in data breaches urging people to migrate funds from their devices.
Obviously this is a scam, and there’s no indication that Foundation’s own data was leaked, but the question I want an answer to is how were these attackers able to spoof the email headers to allow these emails to appear legitimate?

I checked my spam folder, and lo and behold, I got the same email. I never purchased a Foundation device or gave them any of my email addresses, so this is clearly a mass-mailing to a list obtained from another source.
The important question is: How did they get your email address?
