I have been needing a new Oura ring for a while. I've been a customer since 2020, and they replaced my Gen 3 ring twice now for free. I contacted them and said my battery life is horrible. They offered €100 off a new Gen 4 or 5. I accepted. They emailed back and said because I'm a longtime supporter, they are upping it to €200 off. So I'm getting a new Gen 4 gold for €100 🥳
Gouda is waxed 🥳 I tried a pre-aging sample. It's pretty good as it is. I'm happy. Now, to stow it away until January.

Maybe it's just me, but some of my favorite moments on Nostr are when I have absolutely nothing to say. Coffee in hand, I open the client and catch up on what everyone was thinking about while I was sleeping. A few rabbit holes, a few laughs, a few things learned, and before long I'm sending zaps to people who've made my morning a little better. Nostr isn't just a place to consume ideas. It's a place where appreciation can move as freely as information. Anyway, back to coffee, reading, and chores. Catch y'all later. Gm and PV🫂⚡

🎃 I carved my tiny pumpkin. Now, I am going to give it the raccoons. I don't think they'll care much about my lazy hack job. I don't even know if they will eat it, but we'll find out. https://spatia-arcana.com/63f5e93fe9179744d03e99ae4d0ceaa43ef1743651e4fcef9178d556897bdd6e.jpg
Rice, softboiled eggs, handmade teriyaki pan sauce
My new favorite quick meal.
The teriyaki is made by frying minced garlic in a tablespoon of butter. Then adding 2-3 tbsp soy sauce and 1-2 tbsp brown sugar and bringing it to a boil. In a small bowl, I mix together a tablespoon of sake with a teaspoon of cornstarch, and pour it into the sauce and simmer till it's nice and thick. Then off the pan, stir in another tablespoon of butter.
It's mind blowing.

Fresh off the presses: I wrote a new personal relay implementation that will fix nostr.
Instead of syncing notes from your web of trust (expensive, no one is looking for them there) or blasting notes to the network (pointless, borderline abusive), it looks for your outbox relays and fetches your notes from them. This means that after years of home relay fragmentation you can finally get all your notes in one place. Even better, if you run two instances they will actively copy your notes between them without any configuration other than a normal 10002.
Use the outbox model. It works.
