On my way back to the boat, chilly eve, but wow am I ever looking forward to some peace and quiet in the morning with no need to instantly get up and move.
Going to adapt this, tonight or tomorrow, so you can pull up and view the interactions between the account you're viewing and the people you follow. Quick and easy. Doesn't need AI and the associated cost, either.

I ditched the followers metric because it was utterly unreliable and a poor metric for anything beyond feeding ego.
This is better. It's not entirely accurate, it only reaches out and checks so far, but should, over time and interactions, provide more useful insight when viewing accounts than accounts which once clicked follow.
This isn't a WoT thing, btw.

One of these is NOT a nostr client name, yet. Autocorrect fucked me up there.

I just accidentally brought and ate two meals at the hospital restaurant. Rice with chicken and a damn good chilli. I didn't realise it was meant to be two meals. Scoffed the bloody lot though. Paid double what I thought I would, so I wasn't leaving anything behind.
Sat here giving my mate shit, it's such a relief to see him healing up. I've missed being able to give him a hard time, tbh. 🥳
For reference, the mistaken name there was damus which was autocorrected to amusing. Which is, in and of itself, amusing.

In long form editors can the banner image be insterted via a naddr of a kind 20 post? Or from a blossom link direct from my blossom server?
The only MP I'll give a few seconds to. He might not be of the common stock, but he does appear to be for us.

Ditto, Nostr Vault on ios, Plume, Feather, Amusing, YakiHonne, Amethyst, Primal ios, Nostrich, Dark Wisp.
Just a few of the client tags I see as I scroll through the feed.
Each one different. Different features, methods, layouts and options.
Yet all speaking the same language. Mostly. (Kind 1111 reference, for digs).
#nostr is amazing.
Happy White Paper Day folks.
Curiously, thanks to CSW, who is not Satoshi, as far as I can remember there's still technically a court order in effect which prohibits people from hosting links to the white paper. Or was it the actual links to Core? I can't remember.
Either way, thanks Satoshi.
And Craig can fuck off. Still.

Right, done all I wanted to for now with the location thing. I'll be able to expand on that at a later date and make it even more useful, but for now it does what I need it to do.
Next task is to change the followers list. By change, I mean, remove. What's the point of it? What does it actually tell you about a person? Nothing useful, really, given the number of dead accounts on here, as well as lurkers. So I'm going to experiment with interaction scoring, a sort of WoT type model, I guess, but it's not a WoT, it's just...activity metrics. But, again, it'll be extensible, like the location thing I just added.
That first test didn't work how I wanted it to, so I'm making some changes, but now I'll test the other method
https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=50.79254&mlon=-1.02722#map=15/50.79254/-1.02722
I've added automatic meta data stripping to images on Plume (video next) along with appropriate notifications.
I've also added a pin to the compose boxes, as well as replies, so you can manually place a map object in a note, or kind 20 image, or video. Being able to share place information is useful and could be built on further later on. I decided to do it this way because reasons.
This note is just a test, btw. The map data should be stored as a tag in the note and will possibly (probably) only render in Plume atm, so I've added an option to encode it directly in the note instead.
Women just ain't like they used to be...

My attempt to add geo locations didnt work initially, and I know why, but I've adapted the idea. Simply going to add optional geo locations to all notes.
Right, I'm doing it. Let's see how quick the clanker is. I've got to leave to get to the fiat pit in 40 minutes...
#nevent1q…rrvu
This question is especially for the #photography crowd on #nostr. There's some amazing shots shared here from beautiful locations.
#nevent1q…rrvu
Just trying with an idea. I see most people setting their clients up to strip meta data from image and video uploads, which seems smart.
However, I'd like to be able to actually share that info sometimes.
So I'm considering an opt in, so you can share a geohash of the location an image was taken and then Plume and any compatible client could display a map or satellite view of the location.
I reckon I'd use that, and I reckon I'd enjoy seeing the places where some photography is shared from.
Could then collate that in to a global view of great locations for getting the best shots and be able to plan trips out to those places to try my own hand.
Thoughts, #nostr?
Brilliant. Amethyst, leading the pack as usual.

Slowly coming around to adding payment targets in Plume.
Slowly.
Just updated the follow pack creator in Plume, the fields were there but there were no hints about what to put in them...anyway, it now works, properly 🥳

Just heading back up the hospital in a mo...but you know those days where you wake up with a heavy head and no amount of coffee lifts the fog? Yeah, I'm having one of those. Could quite happily just curl back up and go back to sleep right now. Still, onward. Swinging the pick at the fiat mine later, so can't sit around.

Picard passing before Kirk was not something I imagined as a kid watching Generations at the cinema with my old man.
My friend is in recovery.
He's suffering, he's in pain, he knows the next 48 hours are going to be as miserable as sin.
But he's alive.
Praise be to God.
What was true 140 years ago almost, in 1891, is as just as true now, in 2026.
“I would ask any too genteel reader, who cannot endure to have said what everybody nowadays thinks and feels, to remember a well-worn sentence of St. Jerome’s: If an offense come out of the truth, better it is that the offense come than that the truth be concealed.”

Not 100% sure how this will render, tbh, but it's a naddr for a music playlist I just compiled. I've now got it plumbed in to Plume and can listen to my favourite tunes without having to keep scrolling and searching them out. I suspect some clients will handle it properly and I'll just have to fix my own site

Still waiting for him to come back to the ward. Went for a walk up The Hill while I wait.
It's not actually called The Hill, it's Portsdown Hill, part of the beautiful South Downs.
But in Pompey we only have one hill and it's pretty obvious what we're talking about, hence "The Hill".
Anyway, the view is lovely, sometimes. But it's bloody steep.
I've walked up and down it more than a few times recently. I'm nit sure if I've extended or reduced my lifespan, but it's taken a lot of effort, either way.
I may have had too much coffee.
Just added list feed to Plume, which actually makes lists useful to me again now. Book lists appear to be interoperable with #Alexandria now, which is nice, now music playlists. Then a few cosmetic changes.
Before then though, I must go back to the hospital and inspect the butchers work.
Watching npub1de6l09erjl9r990q7n9ql0rwh8x8n059ht7a267n0q3qe28wua8q20q0sd livestream while I read Tess Of The D'Ubervilles by Thomas Hardy brought to nostr by npub1l5sga6xg72phsz5422ykujprejwud075ggrr3z2hwyrfgr7eylqstegx9z , coz this is how I #nostr.

Mate's finally in for his op, so while I'm waiting I'm going to carry on fixing things in Plume and see if I can't make better use of lists.

Bloody hell...I'm back on the boat, big tides expected tonight, but I've got to be up when the tide's falling to pull her lines a bit tighter and empty the bilge. Storms always make me nervous, she's been damaged in three storms now and I'm constantly chasing repairs. Still, it beats living in the city, despite the effort. I can tolerate town for short periods but those periods are getting shorter and shorter as the years roll on.
Come on #nostr do your thing
