Gm #nostr friends 🥳☕️🙏
It just occured to me that I don't have a purple ostrich emoji - is there an emoji pack with one available?
Picard passing before Kirk was not something I imagined as a kid watching Generations at the cinema with my old man.
My friend is in recovery.
He's suffering, he's in pain, he knows the next 48 hours are going to be as miserable as sin.
But he's alive.
Praise be to God.
What was true 140 years ago almost, in 1891, is as just as true now, in 2026.
“I would ask any too genteel reader, who cannot endure to have said what everybody nowadays thinks and feels, to remember a well-worn sentence of St. Jerome’s: If an offense come out of the truth, better it is that the offense come than that the truth be concealed.”

NIght, nostr friends. I'm done. Thanks for being entertaining and stuff 🙏

Not 100% sure how this will render, tbh, but it's a naddr for a music playlist I just compiled. I've now got it plumbed in to Plume and can listen to my favourite tunes without having to keep scrolling and searching them out. I suspect some clients will handle it properly and I'll just have to fix my own site

The view of the #sunset from the hospital the other day, just before the storms.

Still waiting for him to come back to the ward. Went for a walk up The Hill while I wait.
It's not actually called The Hill, it's Portsdown Hill, part of the beautiful South Downs.
But in Pompey we only have one hill and it's pretty obvious what we're talking about, hence "The Hill".
Anyway, the view is lovely, sometimes. But it's bloody steep.
I've walked up and down it more than a few times recently. I'm nit sure if I've extended or reduced my lifespan, but it's taken a lot of effort, either way.
I may have had too much coffee.
Just added list feed to Plume, which actually makes lists useful to me again now. Book lists appear to be interoperable with #Alexandria now, which is nice, now music playlists. Then a few cosmetic changes.
Before then though, I must go back to the hospital and inspect the butchers work.
Watching npub1de6l09erjl9r990q7n9ql0rwh8x8n059ht7a267n0q3qe28wua8q20q0sd livestream while I read Tess Of The D'Ubervilles by Thomas Hardy brought to nostr by npub1l5sga6xg72phsz5422ykujprejwud075ggrr3z2hwyrfgr7eylqstegx9z , coz this is how I #nostr.

Mate's finally in for his op, so while I'm waiting I'm going to carry on fixing things in Plume and see if I can't make better use of lists.
There's a casualty in every storm down here.

Gm #nostr - got lucky last night, wind changed so I didnt have to get up and adjust the lines. Meant I was able to just sleep through and wake up in a very quiet calm environment. Honestly, there's sod all noise down here atm. It's glorious.
Hope you're all well 🙏 ☕️
Hey, can anyone pull the video from this link please? 🙏

Bloody hell...I'm back on the boat, big tides expected tonight, but I've got to be up when the tide's falling to pull her lines a bit tighter and empty the bilge. Storms always make me nervous, she's been damaged in three storms now and I'm constantly chasing repairs. Still, it beats living in the city, despite the effort. I can tolerate town for short periods but those periods are getting shorter and shorter as the years roll on.
Come on #nostr do your thing

Another day, another chance. How lucky are we?

At this point why trust any hww stuff? Shit's crazy.

I really do need to crash, but up till now I've not really made lists very useful in Plume. So now adding list feeds for people I add to favourites, or cheesemakers, or degens, or whatever. Then doing music lists so I can enjoy playlists without having to dig through the tunes every time. Then trying to bring the book lists (reading, read etc) inline with Alexandria, where there's a proper implementation.
But I really do need to crash...
I've not been this focused for a long time. It's funny, as well, because I can't get close to my Claude usage limits atm, despite going at it for hours. Costs have come waaaay down.
Bloody hell, I just clocked the time, I've got to get up in the morning. Can't just sit here and get lost in what I'm doing, though Lord knows, it's easy when you're enjoying yourself.
Well, I've got to admit, I've never considered trying this before but it might be worth a shot
#nevent1q…mnup
I'd never give them any business again. I used to like Revolut till they stopped you making deposits to exchanges, just because they wanted to launch their own custodial bitcoin service.

Just made an update to the desktop view of Plume, with option sidebars, with optional splits, so I can load what I want in to the view now. I'm just sat here listening to music, while typing out this note and notifications is a live feed in the bottom right now. I'm loving the way this is coming together. The mobile changes were already pretty cool, this adapts the desktop view to make best use of what's there. I'm enjoying this tune by @npub1l5h…hdrf btw. Check them out.

Okay, I've made the site a bit more how I want it now, which is great, now it's time to go back to the hospital...
Because guess who still hasn't been given his operation?
The real bugger of this is, they're keeping him dosed up on opiates and he's already lost 1 day in every 12 of this year laying in a hospital bed. Proper shit.

Testing highlights within the books tab on Plume. In theory, this highlight posts as a kind 1, plus a kind 9802 that links to the book and page in question.
“Don’t you really know, Durbeyfield, that you are the lineal representative of the ancient and knightly family of the d’Urbervilles, who derive their descent from Sir Pagan d’Urberville, that renowned knight who came from Normandy with William the Conqueror, as appears by Battle Abbey Roll?””

Right, I'm done for the night, had fun though.
Wiki and book search now work properly, and Books include private or public bookmarks, so you can get right back to where you were, across devices.
Loads of mobile UX updates, sorts out a lot of things which were bugging me.
Good fun, tbh. But time for me to crash.
GN #nostr, sleep well 😴
Interesting.

So now, every time I share a link to a book or chapter, Amethyst users are getting the whole thing rendered in their feed. Oops.
#nevent1q…rpkx
My sincere apologies to #Amethyst users, but when I post a link to a book, I expect the link to be rendered, not the entire bloody chapter. Trust me, if you didn't see it, you're lucky, but this chapter goes on and on and on. See the nice tidy way Plume just renders a link to the chapter that opens the books tab? That's what it's meant to look like.

Awesome, books and wiki sections fixed, so search now works across both. When a book is being read you can go back to the chapter you were on, and sync across devices, so you can read on your computer then go out and carry on reading it on the phone. Bookmarks and your reading list can be either public, or private, your shout.
Best #nostr long form editor?
Another great reason for the nostr wiki by the GitCitadel team. Bloody legends.

The UK hit the point of no return a little while ago. Nothing left to do but ride it out now.

GM #nostr - yesterday was grim. The video really doesn't capture it. It does illustrate, however, the power of the wind. You see the direction those waves are moving in? That's against a very fast moving tide going in the opposite direction. Treacherous waters.

Just walking around by The Hard in #Portsmouth and saw loads of police gathering, in multiple spots, under shelters, in cars etc.
Wondered, what's going on?
Then remembered, the hooligans from Millwall are on their way down 😂
Okay, let's not kid ourselves, this looks like a lot of fun 😂🥳

Well that's odd. Looking at replies tab, saw someone chatting. Saw his comment from his current account name. Reply to him showed his comment as a quoted note, but in the quoted note displayed his old display name and picture. I've seen lots of funny bugs here, but that's a first.

Just renewed my @npub1nxy…avr7 subscription for another year. I run my haven relay now, which includes my own blossom server, but you know what? Nostr Build is well worth the money, regardless. Brilliant service amd does great work for the #nostr community.
