There's 2,600+ BTC of volume in the past 24H on @nprofile…xamj coordinator from @nprofile…gldk... that's $200M of volume being coinjoined in a single day. So it does work, and i use it everyday.
Lightning is not for very large amounts so i won't comment on that, but it's private for 99.9% of users who want to use it as their payment layer for everyday bills.
Newbies and privacy larpers would rather go with shitcoinery (Monero) route, than learn how to use Bitcoin and how it works.

The amount of fear mongering circulating through social media and legacy news outlets about "something big coming" has become almost routine.
Fear sells, it always has. Fear captures attention faster than optimism, uncertainty spreads faster than nuance, and predictions of catastrophe generate far more engagement than measured analysis.
But whenever someone confidently claims they know something terrible is about to happen, it's worth asking a simple question:
What exactly do they know?
Not what they suspect. Not what they fear. Not what they can imagine. What do they actually know?
Human beings are remarkably good at turning limited information into elaborate forecasts. We mistake possibility for probability and probability for certainty. Entire industries have been built around monetizing that confusion.
A healthy mind remains open to risk without becoming consumed by it. It prepares without panicking. It observes without catastrophizing. It recognizes that uncertainty is not evidence.
Most of the time, those shouting the loudest about an imminent collapse are not offering knowledge. They're offering speculation wrapped in conviction.
Stay informed & stay aware. But don't outsource your peace of mind to people whose business model depends on keeping you anxious.
Clear thinking is becoming a rare commodity.
Guard it carefully.

For small amounts, it’s feasible; for large amounts, CoinJoin doesn’t work. The latest hacking attacks have occurred via Wasabi and have been traced back to subsequent consolidations; this doesn’t happen with Monero.
The same is true for Lightning, which is unfeasible for large amounts.
Even for large amounts, other methods used by North Korea in cross-chain OTC black markets are better.

Dear Future Nostr, Gm!
History often celebrates the winners while forgetting the experiments that made the future possible.
Today, Nostr remains one of those experiments.
The world outside continues accelerating toward greater centralization disguised as convenience. Algorithmic feeds grow more sophisticated, attention becomes more commoditized, and digital experiences become increasingly curated on behalf of users rather than by them.
And yet, here we are.
Not because everyone agrees on what Nostr should become, but because enough people agree on what it should never become.
We're still uncertain about onboarding. Perhaps mass adoption is inevitable. Perhaps it's undesirable. Perhaps the value of a network isn't determined by how many people use it, but by whether those who do retain agency over their identity, speech, relationships, and data.
For now, a few hundred determined people continue gathering here. We argue. We create. We fork ideas. We challenge assumptions. We build friendships. We send zaps. We disappear for weeks and come back as if no time has passed.
In an era increasingly optimized for extraction, that simple persistence feels revolutionary.
If you're reading this in the future, hopefully the protocol has grown. But more importantly, hopefully it has matured without surrendering its principles.
Empires emerge and collapse. Platforms rise and fall. Algorithms change by the hour.
But genuine communities endure. And somehow, against all modern expectations, this one still does
You may agree or disagree, but the reality is this: mainstream analytics agencies can’t even measure the trading volume behind Monero on the dark markets.
Even with Monero’s current weaknesses regarding decoy selection failures, a few hops are enough to mitigate the problem.
With FCMP++, it’ll be on a whole other level.
