I think people think I'm wrong for saying that I don't have a stance on many political things. To be honest, I mostly just have a problem with governments: all and every kind -- because they have and wield disproportionate power over people.
When someone brings up a particular topic, I don't really know the ins and outs and it's practically impossible to know it all. Even (don't kill me) the Gaza-Israel situation... I know that there have been war crimes, that the situation is very one sided, and a lot of the things we see are completely unforgivable... And yet if I were to let that conclude in my head, I might enact violence on innocent people because of their identity. Or I might just not feel empathy for violence against a fellow human and instead celebrate it instead.
I refuse to do that. The best thing we can do, unless you are ready to fight a war with violence which means supporting collateral for the sake of a sense of justice or revenge -- and for those who do that to protect and support and their own, I commend you --, is to keep supporting and building freedom technology.
That in my opinion is more productive AND non-biased. It doesn't require you to pick a side, or to choose who you hate from the choices laid out to you by media and emotionally distressed participants who see it as black and white, it just gives the guns and more importantly the shields to everyone so the fight is a bit fairer and the outcomes are less catastrophic and heartbreaking.
Just needed to get that out, maybe you have been told that you must have an opinion and sitting on the sidelines is not an option, and all you want to do is say "do you pay your taxes?" "So then where is your conviction suddenly?" But you know that is just gonna cause more conflict for the sake of argument.
Maybe I'm just a coward and should focus my energy on learning who is evil and who is victimised in all situations, but then who has time to live a life after all that?

I'm looking to learn this soon.
Hey kids, let me tell you a little something about how the internet works.
We use it for online banking, securing money, personal information, passwords and that security, it all depended on just a handful of people to secure a sort of master secret.
But you know what, the fucking system is a joke. Imagine being given the role of choosing a secret master password that everyone and everything on the internet depends on staying a secret and you choose 4.
Yes. 4. I didn't make a mistake. The motherfucker chose the number 4 as their password. Not 4 numbers, just one character. 4. Remember when they told us our passwords had to be 8 characters long, upper case, lower case, have fucking symbols! AND THEN THEY JUST USED THE NUMBER FUCKING 4!
So. From now on, let's just make our own internet hey? And maybe let's secure it with the number 5 😎.
Literally got a slack notification about this 3 minutes after asking here 😂
Just building yet another journaling app for myself so I can track my own sanity.
I know there's a bunch of tools out there, but none of them seem to work, or maybe it's just because it's built by someone else, or maybe it's because I have to learn how to use it, that I never end up using it. But something I build myself with Omarchy and AI, I think this is going to work better for me.
I just love how easy feature development seems to be on Omarchy.
Oh I didn't know about murdoku, I thought it was related to sudoku.
Cracking the cryptic is a couple of old dudes doing sudoku-like puzzles but they are way more advanced.
They put a link to the puzzle at the top of their videos so I've progressed from watching them, trying to solve them while watching them, and now just trying to solve them.
Who tf did it make wealthy? Almost all service providers and custodians giving you usernames and passwords did better by a mile.
And nobody pushed these technologies (like cashu) as the solution. These are all just explorations and stepping stones until someone finds the perfect mix if these technologies and ideas that can solve a real problem when it arises.
The idea of "don't invent fire, wait until it gets cold to think about fixing it" is dumb. Humans are curious tinkerers and everything we value today has been the product of many many small meaningless contributions pieced together by a "genius".
Does it at all prevent spam? Like literally the one thing it was supposed to do?
I guess it's kind of not equivalent to email considering they post once and reach all instead of post once and reach one.
I don't know if I'm vibe coding correctly but it took me longer to build the website and the animations and get those looking realistic than it took me to build the feature but once I built the feature I felt like I really had to share it.
Jumping across workspaces felt chaotic and complex. Adding rows with no rhyme or reason felt dumb. So I built a plug-in and a set of tools that helped me create rows named and then helped me very quickly and easily dump my windows between them and organize myself and this feels so much better and I feel suddenly like I'm some sort of UX guru when I'm really not.

Ugh! You're gonna make me 🤳
Dude.. Ironman suits first. Come on!
Search on Google for Cracking the Cryptic and then you can curse me out all you like for giving you a new unhealthy obsession.
Afaik, the only way to get reasonable photos on Google phones is with their official apps. Unless someone figured out how to reverse engineer it and get its secret sauce out?
No third party camera app could produce even a reasonable photo by comparison on my pixel 9 pro.
I would love to remove the Google camera app.

Using AI to build whole new ways to organise my #omarchy desktop is crazy. It happens in just a single prompt and looks great straight away.
I can't wait for it to shoot me in the foot 💀

Very interesting. There are many other places we can see this type of control. I wonder if there is a word for it?
if they don't support it:
- You can't pay with bitcoin
- You can't pay with a credit card
- You can't use airplay (until recently it seems)
- You can't cast without google play services
- You can't pre process captured images from your pixel phone unless you use google camera.
- You can't login to your favorite website over a know VPN exit node.
I'm sure some of my examples can be ignored, there's a subtle line between can't support and won't support or don't yet support.
The line is clearly crossed when they did support and now they don't and without good reason.
These guys are more mad than @nprofile…2szn who's just trying to run omarchy on mobile phones.
I think I've entered the twilight zone.
You have officially gone insane.
Bro, I clicked install, came back a few hours later, it says "update" so I hit that and went off, came back... "Update".
Wtf are you doing?!??

You basically said Nostr relays is like if you post on Facebook, I go to Facebook to find your content and if Bob posts on X, I go to X...
Well, right now, relays are not websites, they are dumb relays and no one can figure out which relays they should point to.
If a relay was actually a website, designed for publishing... Like a website that helps you edit and publish photos, and it just had a Nostr API, that feels like what you were saying, and feels like it solves the "what is a relay" confusion too
It does if a person is introduced to Nostr by the platform, not the other way around.
So a user would start by using accounts. Multiple platforms with different accounts. Then they learn Nostr can do something that they like (like a Nostr standardised backup) or reach someone that they didn't realise they could.
Just to enable that experience, the platform needs to sign and publish on your behalf.
That is why. Because not everyone will join Nostr first, but if a platform they use uses Nostr and the feature it provides is beneficial, the user might want to explore Nostr but we should reduce the friction of having to start over.
But also, if I post Tweets and photos, I might want to use two platforms for their fit for purpose ux.
I imagine I start by signing up to both sites at different times with no idea what Nostr is and then I learn they can be accessed over an open protocol which I might decide to use as a way to backup my data.
Then I realise they both speak the same protocol and there's Gary over there consuming both my content on his everything app. But I wish he didn't have to find and add me twice and I don't want people to be unsure which user is me and which is a spoof account....
Basically I think people are going to discover Nostr by accident when their favourite app happens to use it. And I don't know the terrible things about this multi-key user, but it feels like it helps these people to progressively get into Nostr instead of having a steep learning curve from the get go.
I almost started building my own budgeting app before I caught myself and looked for existing apps first.
One thing that is tempting is that many apps online are functional, and even though I'm terrible at ui and ux and design, I know when I enjoy using an app and all the devs are like me, they can't design for shit.
AI can scratch that itch in a few minutes.
The best thing is probably to take an existing app, beutify it and raise a pull request.
Is there a sensible way to link npubs? Either from the client side or publisher side.
My thought is that additionally to owning npubs, you could publish from platforms with their own delegate keys and you could endorse its npub as your own.
So then if someone wanted to follow me and I was publishing through a number of services, then they would see all of my content as if it were from me.
I think this would be super powerful. It diverges from "not your keys", but you can own a master key that only endorses and possibly revokes keys, it could provide a timespan, "this was my key from Jan 2020 till Jan 2026" (and I know timestamps are forgable, but ots could help with that too).
And for the complexity of having a hot key like an nsec bunker, ready to sign on your behalf, that can be replaced with accounts for people who want or need them.
I think we'd need a spec about this and then a common way of presenting this on clients.
This idea came after listening to a podcast with @nprofile…nj27.
What I reall want is for my android to cast without google play services really. i.e. work on GrapheneOS
So Ledger asked CryptoBillis to stop selling... So they were an ENDORSED reseller.
And it probably requires some investigation into who was affected and what was their story.
CryptoBillis is guilty until proven otherwise. If you disagree, then Ledger is guilty until proven otherwise.
Vaultwarden 👀 gonna update tonight, nobody look for my server. 🙈
Bruh, I just found an npub of a real life celebrity(?) on devine and now I follow him ...
Brotha do you hear me? 🎵

Wait... Trump changed the world or something? High praise... Undeserved, but nontheless.
I live in the UK and me and others have received phone calls from "police". They are very tactful, ask questions around the bush, give more information than they ask for, give all the assurances like "we won't ask for personal details". Worst of all, they spoofed a number that is legitimately a police departments phone number.
I reported it, a week later another phone call. They don't care. They did fuck all about it except tell me that they had other reports about it, that they might call me back and to be careful. When I asked how I'd know it was them calling back, they didn't have a good answer.
Anyway, I'm just saying that we are not ready to protect our citizens. It really feels like we need an attack, and then we will think about starting an investigation if someone got killed in the process or something.
Omarchy does this already. And doesn't make as many bold claims about it.
Also, we finally have it:

Just connected to my codex via whitenoise.

Right, but we need a layer on top that fixes it. Possibly using WoT and/or a UI that limits or warns against overcomplexity.
Its a fine line between "it works (tm)" and "it's a corporate locked down system"
As much as I've tried, understanding the complexity of how many and which relays I should have and as what type has remained a mystery that haunts me.
What's the context? Sounds like he was trying to be funny or this is fake.
Oh shit. I don't know this one... 👀
@nprofile…na8q
I'm not sure when it started but I've been using simpmusic (fucking terrible name) for music and it stops playing in the background. It stops playing when I switch over to a different app or when I close the screen.
I fixed it by turning on exploit protection compatibility mode.
I never had to do that before. I don't know if it's a regression on GrapheneOS or on simp music, but I suspect it is graphene OS.
Honestly the fact that there are even people who are willing to perform death on another human being who consider themselves and others consider them on the moral side of humanity is pretty scary.
That it only takes a bunch of manipulation of the mind and that could be anyone pulling the trigger is scarier still.
Is this the story of a girl that was sentenced to death when she was 19? And then the injection failed and she ended up in hospital?
There's a bunch of these coming out now, but my bet is that whitenoise will be the most mature.
Just a feeling.
@nprofile…radp should build in Bluetooth and non-internet based connections before it gets out marketed.
