So my target wasn't outlandish.

When the price started to run in January 2021 I thought we'd never hit that target. By the end of 2022 my salary had doubled and we hit our target I thought I'd never hit.

Since 2022 if it weren't for a boating accident, paddle boarding mishap, and seed phrase getting lost we'd be crushing it.

We've continue to stay humble and consistently stack. I know time is the scarcest resource and love exploring and making memories with my family.

I also have low time preference when it comes to legacy. Bitcoin took a lot of the bandwidth I dedicated to figuring out how to preserve our families legacy.

My parents buying the farm that has been in my family for 120+ years is a wild representation of the emotions I have between low/high time preference. It's a clear representation for them to have deeper roots in our homeland and less time traveling to see myself and my siblings who moved away to build careers.

The balance between this scenario is a constant yin-yang pull push for myself. To deepen my roots in my hometown and move back would mean I give up on some of the blessings my wife and my career have afforded us. As well as the beautiful community my kiddos have grown up in at our church and the school they go to.

To work in the fiat world is a means to an end.

What that end is on this planet, that's the struggle I ponder.

quoting
nevent1q…7t8s
Actually, you just made it click for me.
The Argentinians were trained by their inflations to YOLO and spend it before it is gone.
Swiss likely have lower time preference.
2026-07-12T22:44:45Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs05grjfpw9pq6pwz9mlj5dwunrvuwy5pvpp0j2yewfdu5pa7r3rmszyqgq0ykal55dcklw8kce6thlfmu5mg3kxcakqlts7yt2dp23ptcmy56qahd In reply to nevent1q…dmgj
_________________________

Beautiful article!!!
