Several years ago, I played briefly with a trial of the app You need a budget. I was pretty impressed with it, but it didn’t update my bank info as quickly as I would’ve liked. Also, at the time I didn’t feel like I could justify the price of the app. I don’t recall how much it is now. I’m thinking about giving it another look and curious about what others think. Also, has anyone tried the app every dollar to see if it is accessible with VoiceOver?

I continue to use Downcast for my podcast needs because I feel like it is a good client. A lot of people use overcast though, and I don’t hear Downcast mentioned much anymore. I would be curious as to why people prefer overcast. I realize this is very subjective, but I am OK with that.

I was having some weird issues with it stopping speech or something. I can’t remember what it was doing now. Have there been any updates to it since the initial release?

For a long time, I have looked for voices that I like besides eloquence. I find that it can be a bit muddy sometimes. Not quite as bright as I would like. During a recent demo of NVDA, I listened to Microsoft Zira. I have started using it with NVDA and I quite like it. It is responsive, it pronounces things decently, and I find it a bit easier to understand using my laptop when I’m not using headphones and just using the speakers.

I am working on a podcast episode that I hope will actually be beneficial to someone at some point down the road. The topic is how to get started with audio editing. It is a resource episode that discusses different accessible audio editing programs, and provides links for how to get started with each. I am enjoying the process of putting it together, so I will like it whether anyone else does or not. Lol.
