Tänään ajattelin taas kiittää veronmaksajia. Vuoden 2019 lopussa kuurouduin. Sit alkoi koronavuosi just sopivast, ja meikämandariinilla oli sit ihan omat jutut siinä päällä. Mutta heinäkuussa 2020 pää leikattiin auki ja sinne laitettiin kuuloimplantti, ja kuulo lähti palautumaan. Tänään, kuusi vuotta sitten, implantti aktivoitiin ja ekaa kertaa yhdeksään kuukauteen kuulin jotain. Veronmaksajien suosiolla avustuksella. Kiitos siis teille. :blobcat_owo: t: kyborgi

I don't think there would be enough adoptive parents if ALL of the zygotes and fetuses that are now aborted would be carried to term. Let's say in the US it hovers somewhere around a million / year. Well that would mean a million more babies to adopt since the expecting parents obviously didn't want them. Well, the number of kids yearly adopted in the US is now less than 100k. It would mean an increas of over 1000%. Who is supposed to care and raise all the unwanted babies? State?

I changed the condition to:

if (useSecondClosest && distanceRatio > distanceThreshold && minDistance > 0.001) {

meaning
useSecondClosest -> are we in a %2 cell?

distanceRatio > distanceThreshold -> is the ratio of the two closest colors such that it would make sense to dither

minDistance > 0.001 -> are we far enough from first color?

This last check eliminates the case of exact match.

I've got an OpenGL shader on my PixiJS project that is meant to force any color to the specified palette, which in my case is 8-bit NES... If the color is somewhere almost between two colors, then it's supposed to dither it, which would be super nice... What ends up happening is if the color is EXACTLY correct, precisely one from the palette, then it always dithers it. And I don't know why. If I change the color slightly off, then it renders it solid as the correct color. Send halp. #JavaScript

I'm trying to play Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade on my MacBookPro with ScummVM. Otherwise it's okay, but the fighting scenes buttons make no rhyme or reason. They would make, if I had a separate 3×3 numpad like old keyboards. Then there would be logical retreat, block, high, mid, low punches. But having to use just the number keys 123456789, there's no natural, directional correlation to what button does what.

Nothing I'd rather do than be punching the lights outta some nazis.

I'm listening to a 💾 DOS GAME CLUB 💾 (npub1kgt…4kud) podcast episode on Indiana Jones, and I remembered I have bought some LucasArts games on Steam... I had Loom, and I had Indiana Jones & TFOA... Yay! But.. Frick! It doesn't play anymore on my new macOS. The 32 bit support was dropped at one point. I wonder if there's any plans of wrapping these in some sort of a virtual machine to make them run on newer Macs? I know I could install a virtual machine but I really can't be bothered. #retrogaming
