You know you're going to have a great day. When the car in front of you reeks like a skunk with IBS, comes to a stop at a green light, and then makes a half a mile an hour right hand turn from the left lane.

And people wonder why I hate drugs so much.

I used to complain that Samsung's features were just worse Google features that they forced you to use. Well, that's basically what Google did by replacing everything with Gemini. Photos offered to touch up a picture I took with AI and I thought maybe it would remove the streaks on the mirror. Instead, it turned me into an SCP.

Today I am learning about the Margarine Wars. Big dairy was trying to outlaw the coloring of margarine saying that it was unhealthy and artificial. 2026-10-17T04:54:28Z

Amazon is now promoting Upside as a kind of "discount" for Flex drivers. Upside gives you coupons and discounts in exchange for letting them monitor your digital habits.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this. Obviously they're profiting from the sale of the data, but it's like the only service that does something akin to giving me a cut of it (unless you count all the services Google offers for "free"). Needless to say, I have not opted in yet. Also, I'm pretty sure that I don't actually get anything special for working with Amazon here.

2026-10-14T18:16:07Z

Was getting out of my car, missed my pocket and my phone hit the ground. Diagonal crack across the front screen. Display is intact, it's just the digitizer but like this it is annoying and it can become dangerous.

I opted just to order a tempered glass screen protector with overnight shipping to deal with this for now. This is an original pixel fold so it's got quite a few years under its belt at this point. I can't decide if throwing 150 bucks at a replacement screen makes much sense right now. Also, the fingerprint sensor stopped working on it months ago anyway, and that is not a part that you can buy. You can buy it for the later model folds, but not this one.

2026-10-13T20:18:29Z

Well the knife magnet bar that I bought myself for my birthday was complete trash. Just got done sending that off for a return.

The adhesive was so weak that it couldn't hold up the block even without any knives on it. It fell off the wall within like 2 hours of being installed. They sent the wrong kind of screws to mount it so when I screwed it into the wall, it wobbled. The mounting template didn't actually match the location of the screw holes. And the magnets were so weak that my knives kept sliding off it.

2026-10-04T22:42:56Z

Andrew and I tried to go for a bike ride again. Turns out his tires were flat, they use a valve system I've never heard of, and my air hose was broken.

So we got an adapter for his valve and new pneumatic fittings for my compressor. Got his tires aired up once I figured out the valve. We get about 2 blocks away and then realize my back tire is also flat and that's why it's so hard for me to pedal. I like to go for like 6 mile walks but a half mile bike ride killed me lol.

Was just gonna air up my tires but then I noticed that the valve stem is crooked and I have to pull the tire off to realign the tube. More work than I felt like this afternoon.
