I have reported this matter directly to the station and reported that you did not made change in delivery date. I also requested the soonest delivery possible, however please be informed due to the hour I am terribly afraid it would be tomorrow.

Gianni Ceccarelli Jan 9, 2026, 3:45:00 PM

> thank you for the effort, but you have not answered my question
> I asked: what does that sentence mean?
> if the sentence implies that the recipient (that is, me) made a request, then your system in lying.
> if the sentences implies that *someone else* (not me) made a request, then your system is insecure (nobody outside of the recipient should be able to request a change to the delivery date)
> if the sentence does not imply anything about the origin of the request, then your system is useless (it gives me information I cannot use in any way)
>
> I understand that you have no influence on the software that runs fedex, I do not expect you to be able to change anything, but I would really like to know *what the system is telling me*
> thank you again

FedEx Feb 9, 2026, 10:28:00 AM

> Dear Gianni,
>
> Thank you so much for contacting FedEx.
>
> First and foremost, I would like to sincerely apologize that the scheduled delivery date was postponed without your request. I completely understand how concerning this can be, and I am truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.
>
> After reviewing the shipment details, I can confirm that, based on the service selected, transit time is 2 to 4 business days. As the shipment was sent on August 27, 2026, today marks the third business day, therefore the shipment is still within the expected transit timeframe.
>
> I have carefully reviewed the tracking scans and can see that the shipment has been going through customs clearance procedures. I am pleased to confirm that the shipment has now been successfully released from customs, and everything appears to be in order.
>
> To ensure the shipment continues moving as quickly as possible, I have also escalated the matter for additional attention and monitoring. I sincerely apologize for the concern caused by the updated delivery date and understand the importance of receiving your shipment promptly.
>
> Please rest assured that I’m personally following up on this matter. I have created a case on your behalf, and your case number is C-******* should you need to reference it in the future.
>
> I fully understand how important this shipment is to you, and I want to assure you that our team has already begun reviewing the situation. They are monitoring the shipment's progress and coordinating with the relevant departments to help avoid any further postponements whenever possible.
>
> We will continue to keep you informed of any significant updates regarding your shipment.
>
> If you need anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out.
>
> Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I wish you a wonderful day.
>
> Kind regards,

Gianni Ceccarelli Feb 9, 2026, 11:03:00 AM

> thank you again
> I never complained about the delay
> I asked to know what the sentence "A request has been made to change this delivery date" means
> I still want to know what it means
> what kind of request? who made the request? why does that sentence appear in the tracking information?
> that is all I want to know

FedEx Feb 9, 2026, 12:11:00 PM

> Thank you contacting FedEx. Notice how the middle "slice" is essentially empty, what little internal structure is there, exists only to hold the thin rods that clip into the tip of the "wings"

Tangentially, I (re?)learned that the red bits at the front of each nacelle are Bussard ramscoop collectors; I'd have thought that the geometry of the saucer section and the main deflector dish would interfere with ramscoopsin that position (and that most/all the collecting would happen as a side-effect of the deflector's geometry), but what do I know… Geordi was critiquing my assembly and I didn't want to bother him further 😁

(MS Win 1.0 didn't do that!)
- you can transfer data between DOS and Windows applications!
- expanded memory support!

also of note: most of the volume of the box is taken by the user's manual, which guides you through the various UI interactions, and documents the bundled programs (write, paint, calculator…)

It was very promising, but the generated code was an unholy mess of templated callable objects that the compiler did its best to make sense of, to not-great success. I remember building a little program (it was essentially a TOTP generator) both with the Visual Builder and manually (the OS/2 UI libraries were quite usable!): the VB code compiled to almost 2MB of binary, my hand-written one was less than 200KB. And machine RAM at that time was still measured in MBs!
